What is “Get Out & Meet Up”
Get Out & MeetUp is a social club designed for neurodiverse young adults (18-30) who are looking to build real friendships. Think of it like a Meetup.com group — but with the added safety and structure of professional oversight. Each participant is vetted by a Speech-Language Pathologist (Deirdre Flores) to ensure they are a good social match for the group, creating the best chance for genuine connections.
Deirdre organizes and hosts authentic, community-based experiences that young adults already want to do — things like attending a sporting event, going to a comedy show, creating at a makers space, or taking a cooking class. The goal is for participants to have fun in settings they can return to later with friends on their own. These aren’t “one-off” events created just for the club; they’re real community experiences that build confidence, independence, and lasting social opportunities.
