Deirdre Flores

Deirdre Flores is a Speech-Language Pathologist licensed in Connecticut and New York with over fifteen years of professional experience working with teens and young adults in school and private practice settings. Deirdre specializes in social skills interventions and language skills needed to successfully transition into post-secondary environments. Deirdre is an engaging therapist and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed.
Deirdre graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2007 and earned Bachelors of Arts degrees in Communication Disorders and Psychology, Cum Laude. Deirdre graduated from Columbia University in 2009 with a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Deirdre returned to her alma mater, Columbia University, in 2011 to provide a guest lecture on “Adolescent Speech, Language and Literacy Intervention”.
Deirdre is trained in variety of Speech-Language interventions including: UCLA: The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®), Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP), Pragmatically Organized Dynamic Device (PODD), Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets- Level 2 Certification (PROMPT), and Orton-Gillingham Reading Intervention. Deirdre is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and actively continues to stay educated in the areas of speech-language and social pragmatic language therapy.
